Things You'll Never Know

What you'll never hear about

What you'll never know

Is that I looked up to you

Even while you were weak.

You won't even learn about

How much it warped my mind

To learn you never gave me a chance

To be what you taught me I was

You'll never ever see

How much you really hurt me

You distorted my vision and deep inside

I can no longer separate you from lies.

It's so unfortunate you know.

How much trust and confidence I had in you

The one I'd always be able to count on

You said yourself - you'd always care

But that wasn't true.

And now I don't know what was

So everything you ever said

has faded into worthless greys

Its unfortunate you taught me about

Everything I needed to know

Only to ruin it all in the end

By hurtfully letting me down

I have to walk away now

And sadly, even with all you tried to teach

the only knowledge I walk away with

is how to hurt a dear friend.
