Unspoken

It's so silent out there
Where you are
With your big skies

You're stories of good times
Friends and family
Seen by my glassy, lonely eyes.

We crossed paths for a moment, barely
So much, so intense
We grew up together
To leave each other behind

Is it my fault?
Was I too expecting?
I ran and tried to hide,
I tried to pretend I could.
Yet, here I am pretending life is better minus one
when really all I feel is the hole left from you being gone

And even if you came back now
the shape left by who you were
isn't the shape you could fit anymore
because we change and morph, we grow older,
into what we're supposed to be
but please tell me that someone out there... somewhere
is supposed to grow old with me.
